Leeds Pocket A-Z map
Geographers A-Z Map Co. Ltd.
This publication has been designed for a Pocket PC running Windows Mobile-based Pocket PC (version 2002 or later) and the Pocket A-Z Viewer (included). The map covers an area of Leeds and extends to Rawdon, Alwoodley, Shadwell, Whinmoor, Scholes, Swillington, Wood Row, Rothwell, Middleton, Moorley, Drighlington, Birkenshaw, Pudsey, and Calverley. Major buildings are colour-coded to indicate places of interest and other buildings that are open to the public.KEY FEATURESGPSConnect a GPS receiver to show your location as well as direction and speed of travel.Automatic map selectionIf multiple maps are stored covering the same area, the largest scale map is selected automatically.High quality mapsDetailed colour maps taken from the original paper version have been used.Moving around the mapSimply click and drag the stylus on the screen to move the map.Favourite PlacesYou can save positions on a map, allowing quick return later, or set a location as your home allowing the map to always start from that location.Zooming in and outEnlarge or reduce the map by using the magnifying glass symbols on the toolbar.Fully IndexedLookup or search over 30,000 entries for a streets, districts, hospitals, stations and selected places of interest in the index and it's position will be shown on-screen.Extra Index InformationThe index shows additional information, such as postal districts for streets and telephone numbers for hospitals. Stations in the index show whether a mainline rail or underground connection is available. If a street is too small to be shown on the map, it will still be included in the index, with a note showing its location.Direction FinderYou can use the Pocket A-Z to show the direction of travel from one location to another. Place the 'person' icon at the start location on the map then place a 'flag' icon at the destination. Then by clicking the 'show direction' icon an arrow appears indicating the direction of travel required as the crow flies between the two points. If the map is re-centred whilst traveling, the arrow will re-adjust to show the new direction to the destination.Additional maps are also available covering other towns and cities throughout the UK. These can be installed along-side this publication and stored on storage cards to provide a useful library of maps which can be added and removed as required.System RequirementsWindows Mobile-based Pocket PC (version 2002 or later). Leeds map requires approx 13MB storage space. Installer requires PC with Windows 2000, XP or Windows Vista and a connection to a Pocket PC.
