MileageSaver 3.0.0
Maury McCown
MileageSaver is a simple application that helps keep track of your business miles for income tax purposes. You enter the record date, the business purpose, your daily start and end mileage, then MileageSaver will calculate the monetary return you're entitled to based on the current government standards of dollars-per-miles traveled (and it also allows for calculation of mileage as far back as 1999). MileageSaver will then save your entered data as a text file or an Excel spreadsheet file -- whichever you prefer.
Why not just use a spreadsheet? Use MileageSaver and see! Everything the IRS needs is taken care of with MileageSaver -- all you have to do is enter the numbers and the data is ready for printing for your accountant (or for your own records). MileageSaver's interface is far simpler than a spreadsheet, and much more intuitive. But go ahead -- enter a year's worth of mileage into your spreadsheet then do the same with MileageSaver. You'll quickly see that MileageSaver makes this tedious task much easier.
If you're an independent contractor, don't want to invest hundreds in Excel, or if you just want a cleaner way to record your mileage than an old spiral or note pad -- MileageSaver just might be the thing for you.
