Plan B is a distributed, network aware data backup system, designed for both personal use, and business environments. It has been designed to use standard protocols and existing share mechanisms such as Windows sharing, SAMBA, or NFS, in addition to the powerful Plan B agent mechanism also included. Plan B allows you to make use of hardware on remote computers provider excellent logging and reporting facilities, which keep you informed of what is being backed up, when, and where to. Version 1.4 build number 2289 has new features: native link processing, much better rule editor (in the UI), more descriptive tool tips, improved device management, and fixes to rule evaluation.
