SciTech GLDirect 1.01
SciTech Software
SciTech GLDirect is a utility package for Windows 95/98 that allows OpenGL-based games and applications to access 3D hardware acceleration using the Microsoft Direct3D 6.x drivers provided by your graphics hardware manufacturer. Many PC graphics cards only come with drivers for Microsoft Direct3D, Microsoft's 3D interface. OpenGL is a cross-platform, high-performance standard for 3D graphics applications. Since developing OpenGL drivers can be considerably more complex than developing Direct3D drivers, many graphics hardware vendors have not released quality OpenGL 1.2 drivers for their hardware in a timely manner.
This is where SciTech GLDirect comes in: SciTech GLDirect enables OpenGL applications to use Direct3D drivers for 3D hardware acceleration. By combining the power of OpenGL with the wide availability of Direct3D hardware drivers, SciTech GLDirect enables OpenGL-compliant applications and games to run on Direct3D-compatible hardware in the Windows 9.x operating systems. This is a 21-day trial with all functions enabled. Version 1.01 includes an improved registration system.
